Types of Treatments

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression – Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a type of motorized traction that can help relieve back pain. Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine. This type of stretching changes the pressures on your spine and alters the position of the spine to a more functional one. The force exerted on the spine and the position of the spine is altered through this modality. These changes may create a negative pressure on the spinal discs allowing bulging or herniated discs to retract. Not only is stress relieved from the disc, pressure is also relieved from the bony joints and spinal nerves. Symptoms like headaches, sciatica, neuropathy, and numbness and tingling may be relieved with spinal decompression.

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues in the body which include the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and skin. Varying degrees of pressure and movements are used for the purpose of normalizing those tissues. It is an effective treatment for relieving stress, pain and muscle tension, for increasing energy levels and circulation, decreasing healing time and scar tissue after an injury, improving posture, and improving overall health and wellness.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialized form of manual therapy that is very gentle and rhythmic. The strokes are used in a specific sequence in order to stimulate and encourage the lymphatic system to function more efficiently. This helps to reduce swelling and inflammation. Lymphatic drainage is used to treat swelling, aid in healing after injury or surgery, reduce stress, headaches and migraines, sinusitis, and relieve symptoms of fibromyalgia, lupus, arthritis, and other autoimmune disorders as well as strengthening the immune system.

Auto Injuries

About 7,000 people are injured in car accidents daily. If you are one of those, you may have sustained minor scrapes or bruises, concussions, whiplash or other sprains and strains of the spinal joints. The most common conditions treated with chiropractic care are sprains and strains of the spine. Often this may be referred to as whiplash or lumbar sprain/strain. These types of traumas are referred to as acceleration/deceleration injuries. They occur during a rear end collision or when your vehicle impacts another object and goes from a steady rate of speed to a sudden stop. Parts of your body may continue to move forward (even slightly) causing damage to the soft tissues that support joints of your spine. Chiropractic care seeks to introduce proper alignment and movement into the spine. This allows the spine to regain proper function which reduces swelling and pain. At Chiropractic Health Associates, we help hundreds of people per year recover from injuries they have sustained in car accidents.

Bio-Feedback

Bio Feedback – Treating the body as a whole is essential to complete wellness, and everyone's journey to wholeness looks different. We assist you in balancing root causes of conditions rather than simply treating symptoms. This is accomplished through electro-dermal screening. Electro-dermal Biofeedback is a modern day approach that focuses on the body as a whole. This advanced technology allows you to quickly and affordably get to the bottom of your health concerns by investigating and balancing the body systems most important to your overall well-being.
